Following the success of last year's course, Kangaroo Training Limited are delighted to offer you the chance to receive informed feedback about student responses to this year's examinations and explore lessons to be learnt. The course will be run by Ross Howitt, an experienced Principal examiner, coursework advisor, Principal Moderator and educational consultant.

This is a three hour course:
1pm – 1.50 pm

  • Welcome, introduction and layout for the course
  • THE AS EXAM
  • Full brief on 2016 Specification changes – what is known so far
  • Key lessons to be learnt
  • Specific examples of student answers
  • Characteristics of A grade answers
  • Full and detailed feedback on typical student responses and areas for concern
  • A full analysis of the question 7 extended essay question and lessons to be learnt
  • This section will also include some practical teaching strategies to use to further enhance teaching of problematic areas.
  • All pre-submitted questions will be dealt with in full. 

1.50- 2.20

  • The main concerns from PHED 2 practical work
  • An opportunity to ask any centre specific questions
  • Use of actual footage from all roles to explain main points
  • Full brief in relation to moderation expectations for PHED2

02.20 - 2.25 Tea/ Coffee and biscuits
2.25- 3.25

  • THE A2 EXAM
  • Key lessons to be learnt
  • Specific examples of student answers
  • Characteristics of A* grade answers
  • Full and detailed feedback on typical student responses and areas for concern
  • A full analysis of the extended essay questions in each of the 3 areas and lessons to be learnt
  • This section will also include some practical teaching strategies to use to further enhance teaching of problematic areas. 
  • All pre- submitted questions will be answered in full

3.25 – 3.35

  • Key lessons to be learnt from the PHED 4 practical
  • Opportunity to see examples of good practice
  • Opportunity to ask any centre specific questions

3.35- 4pm

  • Lessons to be learnt from Sections B&C coursework
  • Examples of best practice
  • Opportunities to ask centre specific concerns
  • Key points for the year ahead
