Ross has extensive experience in the education sector and is a highly sought after speaker and trainer. He has worked in a variety of schools/ Colleges both at 11-16, 11-18 and in Sixth Form. His past experience includes working as a Pastoral Head, Head of department in a Beacon Sixth Form College, Principal Moderator, national coursework advisor and specification developer. Ross has an substantial experience in consultancy, having provided valuable training to schools and colleges in the UK and overseas. He has an undeniable ability to bring clarity to staff and always leaves his mark with his strong, motivational style.

Tass has worked for 24 years as a Director of Student Progression Guidance (in addition to teaching Economics), at a large, highly successful Sixth Form College. He has organised and managed HE systems, and trained both staff and students in the UCAS system. Tass has developed and lead a team of 15 HE advisers in providing guidance, checking and giving feedback to students, and facilitating the completion of 650 applications on an annual basis. He has supported students in light of their offers, and offered support for UCAS extra. Tass has also organised student finance support workshops and UCAS clearing training and facilitated a ‘Clearing’ clinic supported by local universities.

Tass has substantial experience of providing support and guidance to Oxbridge, Medicine/Dentistry and Veterinary students, devising filtering systems and support, and also organising and providing interview workshops and mock interviews for students - particularly for Oxbridge, Medics, Dental and Veterinary applicants.

Tass has also:

Created a reference data base on Access to facilitate 650 references on an annual basis and organised quality control mechanisms. Organised staff training on reference writing, completion of UCAS application, UCAS system and use of Careers resources.

Created in house resource: 14 sequential Careers guides with clear guidance and timetable of activities for PTs, including Finance game, interactive HE questionnaire and Degree Course Offers booklet which are available to all staff.

Organised annually the Cheshire HE & Careers Fair open to local and regional schools and colleges and widely supported by British, European, and American Universities year out organisations, employers and trainer providers.

Under his leadership the Careers Department was cited an example of best practice by Ofsted, Department of Education and Investors in Careers and received Investors in Careers award 5 times.

Tass is also the author of Careers and HE support manual published by Trotman publishers.
